Island overview

Just off the east coast of the much larger Santiago island, Bartolome is a barren islet that rewards visitors with wonderful views of the surrounding volcanic landscape.

The iconic Pinnacle Rock is formed from an eroded volcanic cone, and overlooks a sheltered bay where it is possible to snorkel straight from the beach. Marine life here includes sea turtles, sea lions, stingrays, spotted eagle rays, blacktip sharks and a small colony of Galapagos penguins. Divers may also have the chance to see the bizarre red-lipped batfish.
